I'm still getting the soil in the garden ready but the broad beans I planted about a month ago are up and last week I transplanted broccoli, cauliflower and Brussell sprouts starts.
You can rest assured that old wives tales are true. My transplanted bean plants aren't doing very well. I was just about to give up on the bean seeds I planted almost a month ago, but before I left the cabin last Friday I think I saw one poking up. Maybe it was just too wet and cold until now.
I found a stock pot at Liquidation World last week. It should be deep enough to hold litre canning jars. So far I've only been able to use 250 ml ones in my regular pot. Looking forward to more jams and fruits. Not sure if I'm ready for a pressure cooker yet. - Margy
