It's so cold

Brrrr.....

It's very cold on the West Coast maybe not so cold for other parts of Canada but for us? Yup, it's cold, hovering at 0 during the day and down to -6 at night.

My poor chickens..we came home from the diner the other day to a frozen egg.

But although it's not too cold for them I still feed bad so each morning I make them some oatmeal cooked in milk to warm up their tummies.

Don't even say it...I know...what I sucker I am!

We are heading back from Los Angeles after a week of work for me. Sounds like the cold snap is continuing for our trip north next week.

You are such a good chicken mom. Betty, you are so funny! - Margy

-32C right now and it's been this way for almost a week. My chickens have nothing but a bathroom heat lamp outside and they seem to be just fine. Their eggs do freeze though, no matter how many times I check on them. I let them defrost and use them quickly in my baking and cooking on the same day.
